About

Nastya Platinova (real name Nastya Barabash) was born in 1995 in Kyiv, Ukraine. BA of public relations in KPI (Kyiv Politechnical Institute). At present she is an freelance photographer based in Kyiv (currently in Berlin).

Nastya analyses her life experience throughout the photography. She pictures Ukrainian youth and musicians. In her works she places the main hero in a strange and pseudo-documentary atmosphere.

One of the main themes in her photography research is showing how absurd and fragile our world is. She appeals to the inner world of the hero, opposing their external environment.

Exploring the rock and punk scene is also important theme in Nastya’s art. Her portraits of musicals depict the very essence of them, reveal the personality and say a lot about both the author and the hero.

She worked with musicians like Lebanon Hanover, Kikagaku Moyo, Jonathan Bree, Kris Baha, She Past Away and many more.
